Corn Poncho
| Weight | 70 kg |
|---|
This reusable poncho is made from corn production waste: 4% PLA, 60% PBAT and 36% corn starch. The starch left over as a by-product is called PLA. To make a type of plastic (PLA) from corn, the corn kernels are mixed with sulphur dioxide in hot water, so that all the components in this mixture develop again into starch, proteins and fibres. The fibres are then made into a type of plastic, which makes it possible to produce a poncho. This material is 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable. Packed in a pouch also made from the same material as the poncho itself. Unfolded dimensions, measured without hood: 100 x 125 cm.
